It is our primary responsibility to offer a fresh perspective of hope and encouragement to those who have been upended by an unexpected tragedy and are drowning in the midst of the storm.

The Be Still Foundation was birthed through the desire to minister to those who have been broken by life’s unexpected tragedies. Andrea knows first-hand the events in our lives will challenge you to answer the question: “Can my faith really sustain me in life-changing trials and uncertainty?” The Maher family story is a living example of how bad things can happen to good people and their response to tragedy offers hope and eternal perspective in navigating the storms that enter our lives.

They know what it feels like to be broken to the core. The main goal of the Be Still Foundation is to remind you through blogs, vlogs, resource materials and books, of a God, who is a God of love, compassion, forgiveness, and redemption. He is a personal God who binds up the brokenhearted.

The resources at Be Still are geared to guide you to the realization that God has a plan and purpose for everything in our lives: the good, the bad, and the devastating! To remind you that He makes good from bad; He makes beauty from ashes; He turns mourning into dancing; and He restores the years the locusts have eaten. The Be Still Foundation wants to be that lighthouse that guides you to peace and safety in the midst of your dark storm.

Be Still also has a unique prison ministry. Upon contact from an inmate’s loved one, the Foundation immediately sends them books written and published under the subsidiary company 5511 Publishing that will strengthen an inmate’s spiritual walk in prison. In addition, each inmate will begin to receive mailings of Scriptural encouragement and will be provided a Bible upon request. This ministry has grown exponentially and packets go out across the country.

All proceeds from Andrea’s book SLAMMED: Overcoming Tragedy in the Wave of Grief and Letters to My Son: Solely a God story goes directly to the foundation and subsidizes all materials. All our materials are biblically centered. The foundation knits its culture together based on the biblical truth found in Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God.'“ If the Bible says it, our foundation stands on it.

The Be Still Foundation is a New Jersey Non-Profit Corporation and is a tax exempt, in accordance to IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) and organized exclusively for exempt purposes, specifically for charitable, religious, scientific and education purposes.
